Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee Let’s see if we can’t start everyone off with a par. Short dogleg left Par 4, 45
From The Fairway yard wide fairway. Favor the left side of the fairway for a short
On The Green approach to a fairly flat green. You should have a wedge in your hand, do not be short; there’s plenty of room back there.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee Medium length Par 4, risk reward begins here.
From The Fairway You must play to the left side of the fairway with whatever club keeps you just short of the bunker. If you want to bust a driver, you’ll have to drive between the bunker on the left and the large tree on the right, or simply drive even with or past the large tree on your right.
On The Green The green sits 2-3 feet below grade and is very small, short is the only place to miss and that is to be avoided when the pin is up front. You might want to risk a long drive to allow for a short approach into a pretty treacherous green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest Par 3 on the course calls for the most precision.
From The Fairway
On The Green The O-Bvious bailout short and left is safe, but a par is still in doubt unless you happen to get a front right pin. The bunker on the left is a lot harder than it appears, very scary!
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A short Par 5 that plays
From The Fairway downhill and left to right with a double fairway. If you want to get home in two you need a good drive just over the left side of the fairway bunker.
On The Green However, do not miss left; there is no decent bailout from those trees. The safe play is to the wide fairway to the right. If you decide to lay-up, do so just over the hill in the left half of the fairway, do not get greedy here, it isn’t worth the risk. The green is much larger than it looks; it will defiantly hold a long approach, just don’t miss left and short. Avoid attacking pins in the front
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Killer Par 4. If you can favor the left
From The Fairway side of the fairway, it is risky, but will pay handsome rewards.
On The Green If, on the other hand, you are good enough to work the ball right to left this is the hole to do it. Take advantage of the right to left slot in the fairway or be prepared to play a long iron into the green. If you bail out on your approach do so to the left and you just might catch a fortuitous kick to the right. Do not miss short or right here.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Good solid, long Par 3.
From The Fairway Always play to the center of the green and always take an extra club, as it plays uphill more than it looks. Back right is a true sucker pin.
On The Green Always play to the center of the green and always take an extra club, as it plays uphill more than it looks. Back right is a true sucker pin.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Medium length Par 4 with a downhill tee shot.
From The Fairway Best to play short and way left off the tee as anything inside the path normally ends up in the fairway.
On The Green A long drive over the lake into such a narrow fairway isn’t normally worth the risk, if you feel really good, have at it. Definitely not worth the risk if your normal ball flight is right to left. Keep your approach short and right, left and long are certain bogeys. Beware of the swale in the back center of the green as it seems to influence almost every putt on the green.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee Long Par 4. Definitely hit your driver here,
From The Fairway favor the left side as visibility from the right half of the fairway can be poor.
On The Green The huge bunker on the right side of the fairway is only reachable to a very long hitter. You don’t want any part of the island bunker right of the green on your approach, too predictable. The green is cupped and there is simply no easy chip here. If you happen to get the rare back right pin play to the center of the green and the ball will end up where you want. Very tough hole.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee Talk about risk reward, how much fairway do you want to bite off?
From The Fairway If you can drive it fairly long in the left half of the fairway, you can reach this Par 5 in two. If you’re going to lay up off the tee, do so with your three wood, any ball played to the right half of the fairway will catch a considerable slope and end up in the center.
On The Green Although the green is a true island, it’s huge….11,000 square feet, don’t hesitate to go for it, the crowd in the clubhouse would love to see an eagle. Do not shoot at any back pins here unless you have a wedge in your hand. You do not want to miss your approach left, right, short or long.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee This is a true three shot Par 5, play it accordingly.
From The Fairway If you can drive the ball long down the right side of the fairway, you will gain access to the left side of another double fairway on your second shot.
On The Green A lay-up to the lower left side fairway will make for a considerably easier third shot; you will wish you had when you see the green. If you lay-up short of the large Poplar tree on the left side, it is likely you will not have a shot at the green for your third. The right side of the double fairway is safe. Be sure to pick the right club on your approach as the green is very shallow.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee My favorite hole. You could justify any club from a 5 iron to a driver on this shortish Par 4.
From The Fairway A conservative tee shot is short and right of the bunkers, leaving a mid-iron approach. If you decide to hit a wood off the tee, you must draw the ball or fly some part of the bunkers on your left. Remember, the lake is 45 degrees to your line of flight from the tee.
On The Green This green can actually be driven by the big hitters….very risky, though. You really want to approach this green with a wedge; there is really no bailout either, short….maybe. Do not miss short and left.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Medium length Par 3.
From The Fairway A twisting bunker runs the entire length of the green in the rear.
On The Green The green slopes hard from left to right, enough that front left is actually the toughest pin placement.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest Par 5 on the course calls for a fade from the tee,
From The Fairway anything left is pretty much dead. Good hole to attack off the tee, just keep it high and right…..most golfers I know find that thought quite comforting. If you go for the green in two, get some loft, as the green is not very deep. Favor the left side if you do lay-up, it opens up the green.
On The Green The fairway bunker short and right of the green is 60 yards long; nO-Body wants that for a third shot. Any short approach will roll back down the hill, long and left is actually a better miss. Back right is considered a sucker pin.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee Tough medium length Par 3 with a very large green.
From The Fairway
On The Green Easiest pins are in the front half of the green. Back right is a sucker pin and back left is best reached by playing to the center of the green. Don’t forget the lake on the left.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee Very long and demanding Par 4 into the prevailing wind.
From The Fairway More risk reward off the tee, plenty of room out there, time to go after one. A long tee shot in the right half of the fairway will catch a 4-6 foot ridge that will add 20 yards to your drive.
On The Green The bunker on the left side of the fairway is only reachable for the big hitter. Although left is the O-Bvious bailout for your approach, it makes for a delicate chip, the front half of the green runs away from you at maximum slope, making back pins the easier play.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee What a fun little drivable Par 4.
From The Fairway A split fairway with 7 different tee boxes. You must let the combination of your tee box and the pin placement determine which fairway to use. For example, a back left pin must be approached from the right fairway.
On The Green
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The longest Par 3 on the course can stretched to 250 yards.
From The Fairway Grab your favorite fairway wood as it plays into the prevailing wind.
On The Green Any misses right or short provide a pretty easy pitch, no worse than a bogey from here. Anything left is dead. Be careful with a back pin, the green slopes away considerably.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee Very dramatic Par 5 finishing hole.
From The Fairway If you’re not going to try to reach the green in two, you may want to tee off with a fairway wood or even an iron, the closer you keep the ball to the lake, the shorter your second shot will be.
On The Green A long drive down our widest fairway will give you a peek at the green on your right. Any approach played just right and short of the green, has a good chance to catch the front edge. If you choose to lay-up, try to do so past both fairway bunkers, you’ll be glad you did when you catch a glimpse of the front right bunker.
