Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The first hole is a challenging par 4 ranking second hardest on the front nine. The tee shot requires accuracy as there are bunkers right of the fairway that should be avoided at all costs. However, the woods bordering the left side of the fairway is even more penalizing.
On The Green A good tee shot will leave the average player between 150 and 200 yards to the well-bunkered, deep green. Longer hitters will have a tricky down-hill wedge into this undulating green with multiple plateaus.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The second hole is a reachable par 5 for the long hitters but it is not without its pitfalls. If you are lucky enough to avoid the bunkers guarding both sides of the fairway on the tee shot, you still have to negotiate the 4 huge bunkers that guard the green.
On The Green An errant shot into one of these bunkers can leave you with an awkward long bunker shot. But don’t go long on the approach, as over-shooting this green by even 3-4 yards can mean a lost ball. Like the previous hole, this is a challenging, undulating green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Hole #3 is a slight dogleg to the right par 4. A well-placed tee shot in the left-center of the fairway is best. A tee shot lost to the right will result in a blocked second shot.
From The Fairway An average tee shot will leave most golfers in the 150 to 175 yard range to the long slender green. For long-hitters, this hole is an excellent scoring opportunity.
On The Green
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The par 4 4th is a picturesque hole that can be birdied, but in some cases trip a player up. While golfers are given generous room off the tee, a miss could mean a severe penalty.
From The Fairway There is a forced carry off the tee over an environmentally protected area and a hazard to the right. A good tee shot sets a player up to make a good score.
On The Green The 4th green is a large two-tiered green with a huge bunker that catches most shots headed right of the green. It’s important to hit your approach shot the correct distance so that you’re on the same plateau as the flagstick.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The first par 3 on this course is tough. The length of the hole can vary between 150 and 200 yards depending on the tee.
From The Fairway Intimidation is a factor due to the fact that there is a forced carry of an environmental area that stops only about 10 yards short of the front edge of the green.
On The Green There are two distinct putting levels with a steep shelf. An accurate player may make a birdie on this hole, but a poor tee shot could mean a high score.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The 6th is a very short par 4 that requires accuracy both off the tee and in your short iron approach. Hitting the fairway with your tee shot is key so you can control your second shot.
From The Fairway Driver may not be the best play for most players on this hole, as there are 2 big fairway bunkers to the right-center that must be avoided.
On The Green It is crucial that you get your ball on the correct level so you have a reasonable opportunity to 1 or 2 putt this treacherous green.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Hole #7 is a short hole that has a high degree of visual intimidation for the tee shot of the average player. The tee shot must carry a large canyon (about 175 yards) that is an environmental area.
From The Fairway A slight draw is the ideal shot shape on this tee box, and most players will have no more than a short wedge shot or short iron into this green.
On The Green As is the patter at Timbers, getting the ball onto the correct plateau of the green is crucial.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The 8th is a difficult par 3 that ranges from about 144 to 202 yards. This green is well bunkered with 1 large bunker on each side of the green. The safe play on this hole is to play for the front or center of the green, regardless of pin location.

Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The ninth hole is a par 5 that ranks hardest on the course, but may provide a birdie or even eagle opportunity for long hitters. This begins a stretch of holes (9 thru 12, known locally as “Timbers Amen Corner) that are the heart of the golf course.
From The Fairway If you play these holes well then you have a made it through the most difficult part of the course. This narrow fairway is surrounded by out of bounds on all sides, bunkers to the right, and unforgiving mounds that lead to a lateral hazard on the left. Long hitters may be able to reach the woods at the end of the first fairway, so driver may not be the best play.
On The Green A third shot for shorter hitters will be a 100-150 yard iron/wedge through a windy corridor of the course to a large green. This green is long, narrow, and slopes from front to back.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee An environmental area that is situated about 135 yards from the green divides the tenth hole. Only the longest hitters need to worry about laying up as the average golfer can’t reach the hazard.
From The Fairway The tenth is tree lined on both sides and requires an accurate tee shot. The approach is usually from about 150 to 200 yards out from a downhill lie to an uphill green.
On The Green The green is guarded by a bunker on the right that catches most errant shots. While the tenth green is one of the flattest on the course, overall this is one of the most difficult par-fours in the region.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee The 11th is a tough par 3 that usually plays into the wind. It typically plays between 148 and 211 yards but can play as much as 30 yards longer due to the wind.
From The Fairway
On The Green Add in a tee box at the highest elevation on the golf course, and you have a difficult hole. Large bunkers to the right and left guard the large green.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee The par 5 12th may rank 2nd hardest hole on the course by the card but many say it’s the toughest on the course. Like the 11th, the par 5 12th seems to often plays into the wind.
From The Fairway A long, straight tee shot is a must. There is a forced carry off the tee and the further right the ball is hit, the longer the forced carry.
On The Green The approach shot to the green is to a blind, elevated two tier green with a false-front that is surrounded by deep grass bunkers. All shots from tee-to-green must be played well to even make a par on this hole.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The 13th is a short par 4 that is actually drivable by long hitters. This hole is a reprieve from the four difficult holes preceding it.
From The Fairway However, the tee shot is a blind shot with out of bounds creeping in close on the left side.
On The Green The conservative golfers will lay up and leave themselves a 100-yard downhill approach shot to the generous, relatively flat green.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee The 14th is a very short par three that has a severe downhill elevation change. The 14th plays between 135 and 166 yards. Gauging distance is to key to this approach shot. This is prO-Bably our most birdied hole.

Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The sixteenth is a par 4 that is medium in length and blind tee shot.
From The Fairway There is a generous landing area but a missed shot left could leave you out of bounds while a missed shot right could leave you blocked by trees.
On The Green Your approach shot must carry a visually intimidating environmental area that ends about 15 yards short of the front edge of the green, which is guarded by two bunkers.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The 17th is a beautiful risk-reward par 5. Measuring 525 from the back tees it is possible to cut the corner of the dogleg and make it into a two shot hole.
From The Fairway However, the fairway of the second hole, along this route, is considered out-of-bounds. On your approach/second shot, there is a lake – which many risk takers will find their ball swimming in.
On The Green For the more conservative player, #17 is a 3 shot par 5 that is has its dangers but is manageable.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The 18th is a straight away uphill par 4 that is a great finishing hole with the clubhouse directly behind the green. There are bunkers on both sides of the fairway, and three bunkers guard the large two-tier green. Par is an excellent score on this challenging finishing hole.
