Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee This signature par four is the second hardest hole on the course.
From The Fairway It has no bunkers or water, but is protected by a slow incline to a long narrow upside down bowl green.
On The Green Two good hits will get you on or around the green. The chip and run shot will be your best option just off the green, letting the ball roll up to the hole.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee Getting a good drive down the left side of the fairway will set you up for a chance at hitting the green in two.
From The Fairway If your drive is on the fairway, you can back your game and hit it over the water leaving a short uphill chip to the green. If your drive isn’t in play, then opt for an iron to lay up short of the water and have a full wedge in.
On The Green This is a tricky green that slopes from back to front, don’t leave the ball above the hole, otherwise you will have a fast downhill putt.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Short left to right par four with no hazards, but a narrow green protected by heavy rough.
From The Fairway Hit drive left of the big gum on the right side of the fairway. Always hit the green right of centre, as the green slopes hard left.
On The Green If anything, take one club less on the approach as you don’t want to be pin high left or right on this narrow green.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The wind will determine the club selection of the tee. Downwind it’s three wood or hybrid over the 150m post. Into the wind is driver over or just left of the 150m post.
From The Fairway There is no real reward for smashing drive downwind, the green is very long and narrow requiring a full sand wedge or lob wedge into the pin.
On The Green Keep the approach left side of the green taking on the edge of the bunker. Stay well away from the right rough next to the green, certain bogey or super up and down from there.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Long par three. Do not go left of the green here, two bunkers, 100 year old gums and a valley will destroy your scorecard.
From The Fairway Aim at the right edge of the green, or at the hill right of the green. Short right is the bailout spot, if you’re on your game then go at the middle of the green, but the ball has to come in high so it sits soft otherwise you will roll over the back into long rough.
On The Green The green will try to tell you there is break, but most of the time it is a straight putt.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Two options on the tee, bomb drive down the right with a high draw can get you over the mounds and close to the green.
From The Fairway Or lay up to the mounds and with a three wood opening the green up for an easy nine iron or wedge approach. The green sits on a hill with a cluster of old gums protecting the right landing area.
On The Green If you want a birdie you will need to take on the left edge of the old gums, hitting it in from a good height. This will get the ball sitting soft, feeding it down to the centre of the green. This green breaks more than you think and can be quick. Good luck!
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee It’s all about the drive here. Take on the trees along the right side of the rough. In the distance you will see the top of an old dead gum, aim to the right of it and make sure it’s a solid shot.
From The Fairway Bigger hitters can go further right, but won’t get much more distance because the fairway feeds the ball left.
On The Green If you are within range of hitting the green in two, play your second towards the gum on the right well away from the water, and the mounds will feed the ball to the front edge or on the green.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Short par three that can make or break your front nine. The tee shot has to go over the bunker and land right of the centre.
On The Green The green feeds towards the water with a ridge cut through the middle. Take note of the pin, as it can be almost two clubs more if it is tucked back and into the wind.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A good drive up the left side aiming at the big gum left of the green. The approach is always a club extra, as it is uphill and most of the time into the wind.
From The Fairway
On The Green Flying the ball past the pin here will hold the green, as the green slopes from back to front pushing short shots of the front edge.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee Straight forward drive on an elevated tee. There is more room along the left edge of the fairway, which opens up the green a little more.
From The Fairway Out of bounds on the left will be in the back of your mind, but a solid hit left of centre will set up the approach.
On The Green Keep the approach left of any pin position; this will keep the ball away from the right bunker and set up an easy putt.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee An easy driver towards the 150 meters post will open up the corner, and give you a three wood or hybrid towards the green.
From The Fairway If you are within range of the green, hit your shot towards the mounds and let the ball feed on to the green, otherwise short right is the best place to leave the ball for an easy chip on to the green.
On The Green Chip to the right and let the ball roll up to the hole, as this green feeds hard left and can be quick.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee This tricky uphill par three can be deceptive. The green is quite long and has a small tear running across the middle.
From The Fairway Make sure you get an accurate distance reading to the pin, and take an extra club to be sure you make it up the hill.
On The Green Any ball that finishes short will roll back down the hill, leaving you a 40m to 50m chip back up. Anywhere on the green is good, and the spot to miss is pin high left. Take care putting downhill, as the green can be slippery on a warm day.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The 13th hole plays longer than it measures. The driving line is just right of the 150 post with a draw or fade.
From The Fairway This will keep the ball away from the right bunker and large shrub that tends to eat any ball that goes near it. Aim at the left side of this long narrow green as it feeds from right to left.
On The Green Take a half club extra as it is a slight incline to the green and is normally a head breeze. Read your putt carefully, don’t allow too much break as most times it holds its line.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee This short par four can be taken on by the big hitters. Aim centre of the green and go for it. Good contact will get you over the long grassy mounds and kick onto the green.
From The Fairway Long right is the best spot to miss the green, leaving a chip straight up the middle of the green. The green is wide, but not very deep. Any approach not spinning will kick off the back, so make sure you get your yardage right and aim left of the pin.
On The Green All putts on this green break hard, so lag all putts high and let it feed slowly down to the hole.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee A hard driving hole as the fairways are quite narrow and any ball finishing in the rough will reduce your chances of hitting the green in two. Aim driver at the 150m post in the distance or towards the water on the right.
From The Fairway This will let the ball kick right and make the fairway. There isn’t much danger around the green except for the left bunker, which isn’t too hard to get out of. Missing the green short right is the best place to be if it can’t be made in two.
On The Green Always take a walk when pitching on, just to double check the pin location. The green is quite long and the pin can be right up the back. Leave all pitch shots just under the hole so you can attack the birdie putt.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Post card hole and also known as the round wrecker. Protected by water at the front and bunkers all around, this downhill 180 meters par three will test the nerves.
From The Fairway Pick an iron that will go at least 170 and make clean contact without thinking of all the hazards. As long as you carry the water and hit the green or at worst a bunker, you will be ok.
On The Green The green slopes back to front and is very fast downhill. Walk away with par three be very happy, walk away with bogey - don’t be too hard on yourself. Just don’t go in the water!
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Long par four with a slow incline to the green can be a long walk if your round has gone pear shaped.
From The Fairway Straightest hole on the course so aim drive straight up the middle. A miss to the right side of the fairway is better than left, as you will have a shot to the green.
On The Green Long narrow green that feeds the ball of both sides, so hit the middle of the green. Putts generally run true, so trust your line and roll it smooth.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The hardest hole on the course. Big hitters can take on the water, but it has to be good contact and not into the wind. A carry of at least 240m to get over the water will leave a short iron into the green.
From The Fairway The safe option is to hit an iron or wood down the right side of the fairway. This will get the ball just inside the 150m marker and give you a full shot into the green. Take an extra club on the approach as it is uphill and is generally into the wind.
On The Green The clubhouse can protect you from the wind, but when the ball gets above the clubhouse it will hit the wind and drop out of the sky, so don’t be fooled. Straight forward green, putts don’t break as much as you think.
