Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee Open and picturesque, the first typically plays with the prevailing breeze. A classic starting hole, it presents only one fairway bunker for guidance off the tee, but subtleties of the rolling green make an opening birdie well earned.
From The Fairway A good drive is required on this hole, with trees to the right and out of bounds left. Even after finding the fairway, two very strategic bunkers can still ruin your score. Par is a good score on this hole.

Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee Short at less than 300 yards, as well as downhill, the second might be considered a certain opportunity for birdie - or better - for long and accurate hitters. The green slopes harshly from back to front, where the creek winding throughout the property often gathers overly aggressive approaches.
From The Fairway This is a great risk/reward hole that will give the longest hitters a go at the green off the tee. If you choose to try and hit this downhill 290 yard par-4 it’s all carry. You must hit a small, well-bunkered target, fronted by a small stream. The smarter route is to lay up off the tee with a 210-220 yard tee shot leaving you a short wedge into the green. Be mindful of a front hole location, as a

Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee No tricks on the par-3 third; it’s all in front of the golfer. A deep bunker left compounds the difficulty of hole locations on that side, and the green rolls away on all flanks - classic Ross design
From The Fairway This par-3 will award a good tee sheet and punish a poorly placed miss. If the pin is on the left, a creek that runs parallel with the hole comes into play. A deep bunker will catch a short/left shot, but anything long or left of the bunker will end up in the hazard. If the pin is on the right, the elevated green could cause a difficult up/down opportunity. A tough, short-sided pitch onto the elev

Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A straightforward par-4, the fourth relies largely on a two-tier green and both sand and grass bunkering for protection. Landing the approach on the wrong level can bring a score of five or six into play.
From The Fairway A drive down the left side of the fairway is a fantastic start! This leaves the fairway bunker and O-B right in your rearview mirror. An approach shot on the correct level of the green gives you a chance for birdie. Knock it in and move on to a difficult 5th

Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee A demanding drive sets the tone for the difficult fifth hole. Mature trees protect the corner of a subtle dogleg just at the point where the fairway crowns, leaving a slightly downhill second shot into the deep green. The ubiquitous creek adds to the view, but rarely is in play.
From The Fairway A big drive down the left side of the fairway is key for the longest par-4 on the East Course. If you leak the drive to the right you will have to be creative with your second shot. Your approach shot from the fairway to the green appears to be fairly simple; however missing the green on this hole can be very penal if you short side yourself. I recommend playing to the fat of the green and two put

Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Short on yardage but long on opportunity, the par-5 sixth brings realistic chances for eagle to the middle of a round on the East. The green is relatively flat, but well bunkered and in the Ross tradition falls steeply off all sides.
From The Fairway A pretty benign par-5. You must protect from going too far left into the water. If you push it right you may still have a chance to reach the green in two. Any drive in the fairway will leave you a manageable second shot to a very big green. From here go ahead and two-putt for your easy birdie and head to the tough, par-3 7th.

Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Playing long and uphill, this par-3 presents more problems than its 13 handicap ranking indicates. It’s often into the prevailing breeze, has an extreme slope off the left side, which is also protected by a massive pine, and the narrow lower tier has trouble at both sides. A back-left flagstick is especially unwelcome.
From The Fairway Our 7th on the East Course is a tough par-3. Ignore the creek left, bunkers to both right and left, the OB right, and then, no worries! This is one of my favorite green complexes on property. Your tee ball on the appropriate tier may give you a nice birdie look, especially with the front pin and the tees up

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The eighth twists right and uphill to a plateau green that’s seen only as a ridge from the fairway. Landing the approach short can return the ball to the fairway off a false front or kick it into a deep bunker.
From The Fairway This is one of the tougher par-4’s on the East Course. Do not try to cut the corner from any tee box. The smart play is a drive up the left side of the fairway. Take the extra club on the second shot as it plays more uphill than you think and it will cover the false front. Your work is not done - lots of places to tuck a pin and a very fast green from back to front
On The Green
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee Like several other holes on the East, the ninth features a strongly two-tiered green. Relatively short and largely in view, the closing hole of the front side tends to balance birdies with bogeys.
From The Fairway The home hole on the front nine is a straightforward par-4, but don’t let it lull you. A nice drive down the center or left of the fairway is important for an approach shot to one of our most elevated greens on the East Course. For the approach shot to this two-tiered green, distance control is very important as any chip shot around this green can prove to be highly difficult. Three sharp swings a
